A quick post. I’m finally getting around to building a personal video page. Making new and re-editing old. Trying out a new camera-rig. 4k prores shot on a Sigma fp and an Atomos Ninja V. It is a bit quirky. The follow-focus leaves much to be desired. So I will probably be sticking with old equipment for anything that requires a lot of following moving subjects. On the other hand the texture and color and possibilities during editing are really great. I love it. Fun, fun, fun to use. And even more fun to edit. Massive files that provide all of the information from resolution to dynamic range to color depth. I’m starting out with a personal Youtube page, something I did a while ago and dropped. Too many crazy headaches, usually involving music. I am not entirely sure where it will end up. Youtube, Vimeo or Smugmug maybe.
Also, Chrome started crashing with my massive photo galleries. I must admit that I have been a tad lazy. When I first set up my galleries with Adobe lightroom and portfolio, I set them up with 500 photos in each gallery. I was stunned when it worked. So I just kept them without doing much in the way of testing on various devices. Chrome has now stopped working with the big galleries so I have reorganized everything into galleries with 250 photos in each gallery. It seems to be working OK. I remain a little stunned. Anyway my reorganized galleries are still here. Although links to the individual galleries are now different.
This video is just a bunch of clips of Park City, taken in this September of Covid. I love Park City at this time of year. So laid back. More similar to what it was before the booms. And much more so this year. Although it is getting harder to find the old Park City. New fancy buildings built or remodeled to look like old buildings without all of the faults and quirks of old buildings, when grouped in the dozens along a street, lose something of the old character and appeal.
Please forgive the dust, smoke and haze. It was pretty near impossible to find clear skies because of the California and Oregon wildfires throughout the month, and with additional smoke from a few wasatch front Utah wildfires at the end of the month as well.
